Women Empowerment Programmes
Realizing that Self help groups ( SHG ) are a great means for empowerment and development of women, Sangli Mission Society, facilitated the formation of 437 SHG's in 4 districts.
Group leaders are given training in record keeping , linkages with banks, internal lending Income generating activities, marketing etc.

Leadership training has helped the village women to come forward and raise voices and discuss issues concerning women. Women are encouraged to participate in gramsabha and to be part of the decision making process. Many women Panchayat members and sarpanchs are groomed in the SHG's.

Rural women have come to realize their rights as well as their potential.
